But to a certain extent, many of the baby clothing and children clothing found in the USA follows one or two specific trends. After a while, it can be tiresome to see the same cuts, styles, colors, patterns and materials over and over. As a mother myself, I often strive to find less popular clothing styles, and stores that aren’t mainstream, in the hopes of being exposed to new designs, colors and styles that I haven’t encountered before. I enjoy dressing my children in high quality clothing that stands out from the crowd, and is unique while still be stylish, tasteful and acceptable.

One idea for thinking out of the box with baby clothing and children’s clothing is to look towards European clothing. European children’s clothes and European baby clothes. Estella-NYC is one option for finding these beautiful, inspiring baby and children clothes. They carry extensive lines of European children’s clothes and European baby clothes. Estella has been in operation for six years, and is located in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan, New York City. A husband and wife team (Chike Chukwulozie and Jean Polsky) run the company, and their fresh ideas for unique clothing has been a big success. They are known nationwide and even worldwide for their innovative designs and colors for European children’s clothes and European baby clothes.

The available European baby clothes include newborn gifts and first birthday gifts, baby blankets, onesies, and the standard array of clothing: outfits, dresses, shirts, pants, shoes, outdoor wear, swimsuits and other essentials. These European baby clothes are also available in organic and eco-friendly varieties.

The line of European children’s clothes is just as impressive. Cotton shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, plain and button down tops, bottoms, shoes, hats, swimsuits and gifts bring plenty of European fashion right to you.

Dressing your children in the European fashion is a great way to make a statement that is stylish and tasteful, while being anything but ordinary. European childrens clothes and European baby clothes can go a long way in making your children stand out from the crowd.

Is My Child Using Drugs Or Alcohol Parenting Advice

family19

One of the most frightening experience parents can face is the discovery of drug and alcohol use by their child. This can happen to even the very best parents out there. Drug and alcohol abuse are serious issues which require immediate intervention. Early detection can ensure a less complicated recovery process. Prolonged drug or alcohol use can lead to disruptive or even antisocial behaviors, criminal activity, and the abuse of more dangerous drugs.

There can be many reasons for children turning to drugs or alcohol. Peer pressure can certainly be influential; but usually there are underlying reasons which made the child susceptible to the peer pressure and willing to try drug or alcohol consumption in the first place. Children who are victims of bullying by peers, or who suffer from shyness may seek out drugs or alcohol as a refuge. The use of drugs and alcohol may also make him or her feel more accepted socially.

Identifying the problem is the first step in getting help for your child in a drug addiction treatment program. The most common outward signs of drug or alcohol use are:

Mood swings Pre-teens and teens experience a lot of mood swings as their bodies develop; but if your child moves quickly from very happy feelings to great anger, theres a good reason to investigate further. Expressed paranoid feelings may also raise a red flag.

New friends The arrival of new friends without an association to your childs current circle can be a warning sign. This can be especially true if you should also notice a change in your childs behavior.

Trouble at school If your childs grades have worsened, or there are sudden patterns of behavior problems, truancy or lateness, he or she may be using.

Major personality changes If your child becomes withdrawn, secretive, combative, listless, forgetful, or lethargic, he or she may be using.

Changes in eating habits A general loss of interest in eating, or increased interest may be equally notable. Look for sudden weight loss or gain.

Changes in sleeping habits or schedule major increases in sleep time or insomnia can be signs of alcohol or drug abuse.

Unusual appearance Red or bloodshot eyes, appearing hung over or listless may indicate substance abuse.

Once your child is in a drug addiction treatment program, the underlying issues can be addressed to prevent a return to bad habits. Behavioral counseling will help your child identify the causes of their self-destructive behavior, and to learn to deal with them in a healthier way. As much love, understanding, and acceptance as you can give will be needed to help in the healing process.

Parent Child Relationship-Astrology predictions 2010

family11

This New York Times article reveals how animals use their relationship with children to improve their social standing. This isn’t very different from humans where we too derive pleasure from our children. We feel happy seeing them play. We put big burden our expectations on their small shoulders and really, like the male Barbary macaques mentioned in the article, we -strengthen our social clout- through our children. Coincidently, I was reminded that it is father’s day today. After playing with my son with some time, I was tempted to dust off my notes on astrology on how to judge children through horoscopes. Any adept astrologer can easily tell the following about your child ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF CHILD’S CHARACTER EMOTIONAL PANORAMAS IN THE CHILD RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MOTHER CHILD’S PERSONALITY FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIPS AND SOCIAL ATTITUDES THE POWER OF HIS MIND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND BUILDING VALUE A relationship between a parent and child is a complex one. Responsibility and expectation does not always balance each other out. Both the parties grow together and as everyone gets older, maintaining the relationship is not necessarily a piece of cake. To judge such a relationship, we need to look at 5th house in parent’s chart and 9th house in the child’s chart. Due to Bhavat Bhavam, both 5th and 9th become important as 9th is 5th from 5th and 5th is 9th from 9th. In general, we should look at influences on 5th house and its lord to determine how the relationship and association would be in future. Happiness through children is indicated if there is a positive influence through Moon, Venus and Jupiter. Similarly, unhappiness would be caused by Saturn and Rahu. Afflicted Mercury causes worries, Mars causes danger and Rahu can be the cause of scandals. Adverse navamsha and saptamsha positions of well placed planets in rashi chart cause misunderstanding. Placement of 5th lord in various houses is important. A good yoga/combination between 1st and 5th house lords predicts a good relationship. A good combination between 5th and 7th or 9th house lord predicts that the parent would benefit from foreign travels of the child. If there are negative influences, the relationship would be estranged by distance. Similarly, if the 2nd house is involved and there are a lot of negative influences, a parent might not be able to support the child financially. The rules explained above are from the perspective of a parent, but can be turned around and looked from the perspective of the child as well. Take an example of 10th house – an unfavourable combination between 5th and 10th house would mean that a person would neglect his/her children for career. A similar combination involving 9th and 10th house would mean that a child will not get enough support from parent because of the parent’s career aspirations

Understanding the Condition of Underprivileged Children in Developing Countries

family4

It is a fact recognized by the government and the civil society that thousands of children are routinely denied their basic human rights in developing and economically backward countries such as Bangladesh. There are many schemes that promise to protect the rights of the child but they are all affected by the acute difficulty that arises in their proper implementation.

Millions of children remain deprived of education and are forced to work long hours under extremely perilous conditions. Many of them languish in inhuman conditions in slums and squatter camps without proper hygiene or sanitation facilities.

Children are the future of any civilized society and it is necessary to ensure their physical and mental well being to ensure a healthy and intellectual society in the future. Social organizations have begun to recognize the lack of application shown by government run organizations in resolving these issues and are therefore taking major initiatives to resolve the problem at grassroots level.

Several programs have been chalked out to create the right atmosphere for the socio-physiological development of women and children so that they can enjoy a life that is qualitatively better than the present filthy conditions that they live in.

Bangladesh receives more than a million rural migrants every year. Most of them are forced to live in conditions that are completely unfit for humans. Very often, young children including minors of the family are forced to take up work for sheer survival. Infants are therefore left unattended or in the custody of their siblings. This is at the cost of their welfare and schooling. Most of the children living under such conditions lose their childhood rights, are completely neglected and left to live off the streets.

Most of the times mothers are left to raise the children themselves singlehandedly without the support of male members. In such instances, they have to take care of the child and also carry out their daily work to be able to survive.

Non-government organizations have done commendable work over the past couple of years in understanding the gravity of the situation and the impact that it can have on the future of the country and its economy.

Assisting A Child To Overcome Anxiety About Riding A Bike

family7

Learning to ride a bicycle is definitely an endeavor that may create nervousness and dread in a kid. All kids have various temperaments, so riding a bicycle may be the first time in their lives that they’re really taking a chance of physical injury. Frightening. So what else could you do to minimize the fear that can accompany this activity and assist your child to succeed?

The best thing that can be done as a parent is to make it a positive fear-free experience and to realize that this procedure is really a long journey. Hardly ever do youngsters grasp the ‘art of the ride’ in one day. It will demand persistence from you and an understanding that youngsters understand at diverse rates. Be motivating, positive and resist any desire to demonstrate frustration at insufficient advancement. If your child feels they’re frustrating you, they will not wish to proceed. Keep the lessons upbeat.

In early stages, established a time restriction for the training retaining it to around thirty minutes. Children could possibly get frustrated by the things that aren’t quickly perfected. Going on too long can cause a child to be much less enthusiastic about the next bike riding session. Getting a ‘hard stop’ may leave the kid wanting more. As the training continue, increase the length to 45 minutes or even an hour depending on time.

The best way for a child to understand to ride a bicycle is with a balance bike. These bikes, also called run bikes or even learning bikes, have no pedals, chains or sprockets. They’re low to the ground, lightweight and created specifically to help a child in learning to ride a bike. Kids simply hop on them and push themselves along with their feet. With a balance bike, the focus is on balance rather than learning pedaling or steering.

Any kid below five will certainly benefit from the utilization of a balance bike to learn to ride. Several parents might question the benefit of investing in a bike that’s created specifically for ‘learning’ and isn’t a traditional bicycle with pedals. Nevertheless, children often ride their balance bikes even after they have managed to graduate to a pedal bike because they offer maneuverability you do not discover in a traditional bike. Since they frequently weigh 1 / 2 of what a typical bike weighs, it’s easy for a child to push around on grass and uphill. Kids treat it like a scooter.

Trying to ride a bike can be a scary experience for many kids. The best way to assist your child to conquer that dread is to be positive, avoid the urge to overwhelm them with long riding periods and make it fun and easy by focusing the instruction on balance initially.

Telling The Children About Your Divorce

family3

I have been working with a amazing group of parents who are all going through a divorce and one of their main worries was how to tell the children about what was going to happen and what to actually say to them.

Children naturally fear that they will lose one of their parents in a divorce or that their parents will abandon them. They also fear the changes and disruptions that a divorce will inevitably bring to their family and they often blame themselves.

One of the key things I ask parents to do is to sit down and to work out together the answer to this question:

* What are the key messages you want to convey to your children?

I ask them to write on a piece of paper their child’s name and to put it on the floor and as they step onto it imagine they are looking at the situation from the point of view and perception of their child.

Then I ask them to answer these questions through the eyes and ears of their child:

* What do you see and hear around you at the moment?

* How do you feel?

How could Dad and Mum make you feel better – what could they do or say?

Then I ask parents to draw a circle and put in 7 spokes like a wheel and to write in the wheel 7 reassurances and guarantees that they can honestly give to their children that will help their child cope with the enormous changes that are coming.

We work on how both parents can agree on what to say before they talk to the children. This helps to avoid mixed messages which confuse, upset and really distress children greatly.

We look at the benefits and advantages of telling the children together and we work on overcoming the “blame” mentality and the feeling that it must be someone’s fault. We look at how to avoid the children feeling that they have to take sides.

We look at taking the emotional charge out of telling the children and help each parent gain more control over their distressing feelings and emotions during this difficult moment.

It is certainly very worthwhile and positive to stop and step back from your current situation to gain clarity, direction and certainty in the decisions you are taking towards handling the difficult and painful area of divorce or separation more confidently.

Key challenges faced on eradicating child labor in India and other developing regions

family7

All around the world, especially in the developing parts, there are widespread instances of children being used as an informal labor force across industrial sectors. According to surveys, countries like Sudan, Congo, Zimbabwe, Pakistan and Ethiopia have consistently ranked high on the child labor employment charts. But it is India, the largest democratic republic nation in the world that has the dubious distinction of being regarded as the worst of the lot.>

The actual numbers vary since there is no real consistency on the statistical data gathering process. From the official estimates to the numbers put forward by non-governmental organizations and unofficial guesstimates, the numbers fluctuate wildly, going from 10 million children being employed to the high numbers breaching the 100 million mark.

Certain types of industries and occupations have also traditionally lent themselves to employing children out of choice. Examples include: Fireworks industry, Jari work, artificial jewelry units, textile units, etc. Moreover, the entire small and medium scale industry framework has also been at the risk of employing child laborers. Apart from these, ship building yards, scavenging and informal recycling networks, food service industries, etc. too have found to be significantly involved in contributing to the employment of children.

In most instances, the murky world of child trafficking has spread its deadly tentacles by preying on the circumstances and compulsions of people that are already suffering from the scourge of severe poverty conditions. But, child labor in India is not simply a poverty problem. There are other factors involved that include societal attitudes towards children, family driven negligence, and a medieval mindset that believes in practices such as bonded labor and so on.

A close examination of the reasons behind these developments by experts has revealed that they do not really work on their own. In almost all the cases, close interdependencies have been discovered between the key reasons.

At the top of this list is poverty and this is often endemic, running through the fabric of the family or community on the whole. Lack of access to a quality education is another contributing factor, with school dropout rates being higher than the general average in regions where child labor is rampant. There are also high incidences of gender discrimination with girls being consistently worse off than boys in this regard. Natural or man-made disasters often leave children at a considerable disadvantage and expose them to the risk of exploitation.

On-the-whole however, it is society that is largely responsible for this scourge. The demand for cheap labor and the subsequent exploitation of kids are both, the result of societal conditions and it is therefore necessary for the thought process to change, before we see the effects in the actual world.

Raising A Healthy Child Is Something That Every Parent Aspires To

family20

One of the primary goals of parenting is keeping your child safe, healthy, and protected throughout their life and for the majority of parents this means watching over their kids like hawks until they reach their adult years. Even the most careful of parents, however, are unable to protect their children from everything and therefore it’s imperative that you ensure that as a parent that you are not only watching over your kids but also using all available resources to evaluate how they are doing physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

Development seems to mostly start with the physical early on and as a result and even though other elements of your child are developing during this period at the same time, it can be hard to gauge initially and so all a parent really has to assess is the physical. Working along with your physician and speaking about any issues that might come up can help you to figure out early on if any issues are arising. Generally these issues can be indicative of more severe underlying genetic defects so keeping an eye on the physical progression of your kids isn’t insignificant.

As your child starts to age and they begin to act more frequently with their friends you will be better able to gauge how they are commanding themselves in social situations. When comparing your child to his peers try not to over judge them just look for any notable differences and then talk about them with your doctor. Each child will develop at their own rate and just because your child has not reached a particular milestone, does not have to mean that they have a problem.

Emotional development is something that can also be challenging to estimate, however, it’s still important that if you see your child especially as they start to approach the teen years, is struggling with issues that you get them the counseling they need to push forward. Counseling can be helpful for those who are fighting to deal with the pressures and issues that they have on their plate.

And if you have worries about your child of a less serious nature then you may be best served to take the time and look up any issues that you happen to be dealing with your child about on the internet. There are many excellent medical resources along with parenting ones which can help you to find out quick information to help put your mind at ease. No child comes with a manual however some on-line research can really help you assess your child to discover if you need to cool down or if your child requires a trip to the pediatrician.
